Bass-Baritone Jongwon Han is our Third Prize Winner in the 2022 Giulio Gari Vocal Competition. Prior to winning the Gari, Jongwon was a Grand Finalist in the 2021 Metropolitan Opera Lafont Competition. This season, Mr. Han will join the Santa Fe Opera as an Apprentice Artist, covering the role of Bartolo in Il barbiere di Siviglia. His operatic roles include the title roles in Don Giovanni and Le Nozze di Figaro, Masetto in Don Giovanni, Schaunard in La bohème and Dr. Miracle in Les Contes D’Hoffmann.

In his concert performance Jongwon sang Aleko’s cavatina, a gorgeous piece from Rachmaninoff’s early opera Aleko.
